May I request ebooks?

Answer

Our Virginia consortium (VIVA) offers some ebook lending.  It is specific to the following publishers:  Brill, Wiley, Oxford University Press, and Taylor & Francis.  Loans come in the form of a PDF.  This is a new program and there are still some quirks.

If your requested ebook is not available from these four publishers, the ILL librarian will automatically find you a printed version (unless you specify "ebook only" on your order under the course section).

Please recognize that ebook are licensed whereas printed books are owned.  Owned items can be lent/borrowed; whereas licensed items cannot ... unless the lending library has a licensing agreement  with the publisher (as noted above with VIVA and the four publishers).
